What do you think is causing obesity in America today?

I’m a vegetarian, and I’ve never had any health issues. All my nutrients are at the healthy level, and I am right in my BMI. Could a meat-based diet be the cause of obesity? Or could it simply be that convience has overthrown a healthy meal with the fast food industry? What is your opinion?

I know a lot of people that eat meat that are not overweight so that has nothing to do with it. Too many parents let their kids plop in front of the TV, computer or video games for hours at a time instead of making them get off their butt and actually do something outside. They sit and eat junk food (If it’s not in the house they can’t eat it so don’t buy it for them). I know some vegetarians that still don’t eat healthy and are overweight…they have chips and other junk in their pantry.
