I may consider becoming a parent using an egg donor. Could the donor be height weight proportionate but her biological child be obese from her parents?
I’ve seen overweight couples with overweight children. Is it a "like" behavior thing?
well, the surrogacy clinic just told me they provide all data, height and weight and medical for the parents of the donor, so those records should prevent traits that might skip generations.

Bill would make it illegal to feed the obese
Three legislators want to make it illegal for restaurants to serve obese customers in Mississippi.

House Bill No. 282, which was introduced this month, says: Any food establishment to which this section applies shall not be allowed to serve food to any person who is obese, based on criteria prescribed by the State Department of Health after consultation with the Mississippi Council on Obesity Prevention and Management established under Section 41-101-1 or its successor. The State Department of Health shall prepare written materials that describe and explain the criteria for determining whether a person is obese, and shall provide those materials to all food establishments to which this section applies. A food establishment shall be entitled to rely on the criteria for obesity in those written materials when determining whether or not it is allowed to serve food to any person.

The proposal would allow health inspectors to yank the permit from any restaurant that "repeatedly" feeds extremely overweight customers.

The bill, written by GOP Rep. W. T. Mayhall Jr., was referred to the Judiciary and Public Health committees, but The Jackson Free Press doesn’t expect it to garner much support in the statehouse.

About two-third of Mississippians are considered overweight or obese, according to a recent analysis of federal health data.

Studies have proven that more that one in every four children that is examined by a health professional is either obese, or possesses a great deal of risk for becoming obese.
What can we do to help the youth at risk? Many people don’t realize that when they remain significantly overweight, they pose risk for more than 10 serious and possibly fatal diseases.
The thing is – we need to be realistic. Fast food restaurants are never going to go away, and parents can only prevent their child for so long. I know of mnay children that were not allowed to consume fast food, but did it every chance they got when their parents were oblivious.
Also, we can’t always force the youth to get away from the TV, go outside and exercise. There are also parents that won’t force their child to do that either. Many parents say that schools need to do this and do that, but they think that the proposal stops at 3pm, and they don’t have to worry about anything. "Since the schools can take care of it." Many parents, especially parents that are also overweight will not force their child to do something "just to be skinny", the thing is, many parents feel as if their child does not need to lose weight because they feel as if they would be catering to society’s ideals.

Hello, everyone. I am 22 years old. My height is 161 cm (5′4") and my weight is 110 kgs (247lbs). My problem is that I gain weight very easily. I tried several diets but my weight loss is very very difficult. I always lose much less weight than the average weight loss for that diet. Once I stop dieting, I gain weight quickly and usually end up fatter than I started. I compare what I eat and the quanities with people I know and I am a very average eater. My level of exercise is moderate, too. I have no health problems or diseases. My immunity is weak when it comes to catching the flu and things like that. I was a chubby kid, but since puberty, I started becoming really obese. Could it be my glands? Could some hormone be in imbalance in my body? A friend told me that as she knows that I eat too little for my weight. What are the probabilities of something wrong there? What kinds of treatment are used? Is it safe? Any side effects? Is it effective? Please share anything you know. Thanks!

I have a daughter who is almost two years old. She is supposed to be off formula when she turned one, but my mother in-law insists that she stays on formula. I had her go to my daughter’s check up with me, and the doctor told her that she no longer needs formula, that whole milk is just fine.

My mother in-law said that she fed her son formula in the Philippines until he was twelve years old, but it turns out that it wasn’t baby formula but powdered milk. I explained to her the difference, but it’s not sinking in. My husband is a veteran, and his mom handles his benefits. So she uses his money to buy formula (which is very expensive) instead of just getting powdered milk.

I just don’t know what to do anymore. I kind of lied (not sure if this is true or not) and I told her that the formula has extra calories and my daughter will become obese if she drinks it every day. I got in depth and said she can get extra calories from eating regular food. My mother in-law got mad and said I shouldn’t be counting my daughter’s calories and I better not be starving her just so she can be thin. I just lost it. I guess because she’s foreign, she doesn’t understand English very well, I don’t know.

She also wants us to wash our daughter’s "tang tang" (genitals) in the bath each time I change her diaper instead of using wipes. She thinks she should still use a bottle.

She doesn’t live with us (THANK GOD) but visiting her is difficult. I am having a hard time weaning my daughter off the bottle (did I mention she’s a toddler?) and I almost had to get rid of my cats because she thinks they have diseases and will make my daughter sick. My husband says to just ignore her, but even still she is controlling our lives. She loves her granddaughter so much, but the way she does things is so different. The last time she visited us she searched the cabinets for the formula and got angry when we didn’t have any. There is no possible way to tell her to not visit unexpectedly, or let us do things our way. If the doctor can’t convince her, and her son can’t explain to her how we do things, what am I going to do? I dread talking to her.

Putting powdered milk in the formula can sounds like a very clever idea. I just might resort to that!
I breastfed for four or five months, but my mother in-law said that my daughter was crying (colic) because she wasn’t getting enough milk, so that’s when the formula was introduced. After giving her formula, I produced less milk and I eventually died up. Those days were the worst, I cried every day.

Simply telling her to F off and let me do what I want isn’t enough. I asked my husband to talk to her in their language, but I really don’t know what he’s telling her. For all I know he’s wimping out and is just as scared of his mother as I am.

I got rid of the bottles months ago, but she keeps buying more bottles, and even if I don’t use them at home, she uses them at her house.

The reason why she handles his money is because I can’t. He can easily get the money from me, and he just isn’t competent to handle it himself. I don’t want to argue with him over money. We did have problems before with her not paying the bills on time but that’s a different issue.

In America Women are estimated to live to be in their 80s and men are estimated to live to their upper 70s.

In the USA they just recently changed the retirement age to 75 but I heard my generation is expected to live shorter lives due to obesity and diabetes and lack of exercise.

What are the effects of living longer lives? I hear some of the older generation that think that my generation should pay more taxes when I truthfully think that if the government feels 75 is the age to retire it should start NOW and people that were looking forward to Social Security and Medicare should be told to bad to sad the previous presidents messed it up for you and all these extra by-passes people are having to extend their lives have made it where you can’t retired unless the government wants to pass laws about what medicare will and will not cover. I mean why does a eighty something year old need to have a by-pass, why can’t they accept that death is a natural part of life?

Sorry to those that this offends It is a question I been having and am trying to understand.
From what I read when I go to retire it will be 75 years old. Currently they are yes upping it to 67 but I say hell move it to 75 NOW

Smoking suppresses your appetite and weakens your sense of taste. As a result, smokers are generally thinner than nonsmokers. That said, who thinks it’s any coincidence that as our nation smokes less our people get fatter? I’m sure there are plenty of other contributing factors, but I think anti-smoking campaigns play a larger role than most people would like to admit.

This correlation can be found in reverse, too. Take France for example. They smoke like chimneys and are much thinner than Americans. While I know that correlation isn’t necessarily causation, it does seem to make sense in this case.

I’m not endorsing smoking. I think it is bad for your health and well being. I’m just saying whenever we force another’s hand "for their own good," we often unleash a whole slew of negative butterfly effects we didn’t foresee. Maybe instead of trying to control others, we should exhibit self-control and let others dig their own graves.
