Bill would make it illegal to feed the obese
Three legislators want to make it illegal for restaurants to serve obese customers in Mississippi.

House Bill No. 282, which was introduced this month, says: Any food establishment to which this section applies shall not be allowed to serve food to any person who is obese, based on criteria prescribed by the State Department of Health after consultation with the Mississippi Council on Obesity Prevention and Management established under Section 41-101-1 or its successor. The State Department of Health shall prepare written materials that describe and explain the criteria for determining whether a person is obese, and shall provide those materials to all food establishments to which this section applies. A food establishment shall be entitled to rely on the criteria for obesity in those written materials when determining whether or not it is allowed to serve food to any person.

The proposal would allow health inspectors to yank the permit from any restaurant that "repeatedly" feeds extremely overweight customers.

The bill, written by GOP Rep. W. T. Mayhall Jr., was referred to the Judiciary and Public Health committees, but The Jackson Free Press doesn’t expect it to garner much support in the statehouse.

About two-third of Mississippians are considered overweight or obese, according to a recent analysis of federal health data.

"In 1796, life expectancy hovered around 24 years. A hundred years later it doubled to 48. In our modern world of air conditioners, hand washing and booster shots, you have a good chance of living 63 years, which is the world average"

http://www.imminst.org/forum/index.php?act=ST&f=67&t=680

In America Women are estimated to live to be in their 80s and men are estimated to live to their upper 70s.

In the USA they just recently changed the retirement age to 75 but I heard my generation is expected to live shorter lives due to obesity and diabetes and lack of exercise.

What are the effects of living longer lives? I hear some of the older generation that think that my generation should pay more taxes when I truthfully think that if the government feels 75 is the age to retire it should start NOW and people that were looking forward to Social Security and Medicare should be told to bad to sad the previous presidents messed it up for you and all these extra by-passes people are having to extend their lives have made it where you can’t retired unless the government wants to pass laws about what medicare will and will not cover. I mean why does a eighty something year old need to have a by-pass, why can’t they accept that death is a natural part of life?

Sorry to those that this offends It is a question I been having and am trying to understand.
From what I read when I go to retire it will be 75 years old. Currently they are yes upping it to 67 but I say hell move it to 75 NOW
