Mass media and childhood obesity?
Do you think that new technology and mass media (internet, computer/video games, tv shows, etc) has some kind of link to why obesity in children has become such an epidemic? why?

newer technology is the one responsible for children remaining indoors most of the time they used earlier in palying outdoors or spending time in other physical activities which now they prefer to spend in front of TV computers and other indooor activities and the mass media is definatley responsible too in promoting the fast foods and the cold drinks even to the extent that most of the tournaments are being sponsered by theese setups and truly because they have succeded in targetting the most gullible of the audience who would through all types of tantrums in forcing the parents to spend their hard earned money on the junk food which they munch on while watching TV or computers leading to the epidemic of child obesity and giving a bloom to the weight reduction saloons and products as an industry too which was never required earlier . The concern is right but where is the solution until it is banned all over the world that mass media wouldnt be allowed to promote or advertise the things that lead to weight increase and also of the industry and the products promising to make you loose weight , I am quite sure a serious effort would yeild best results
