Do you think it’s the governments responsibility to make changes to help fight obesity in America?

I’m not sure how I feel about the issue and although obesity is a major problem, I don’t understand why resturants should be forced to change their menus and ways of cooking because of it. People have a choice to eat what they want..If they choose to eat unhealthy than they pay the consequences for it.

Obesity is a personal problem and I don’t believe that restaurants should be held accountable for people choosing to eat badly.

The problem is that 90% of restaurants do not disclose what they are putting into your food. I think what New York City did was quite a good thing, it really got everyone thinking about their food.

Do we need to go to that extreme? Perhaps not, but there does need to be a way for people to know what they are consuming.

A possible solution would be for nutrition labels on menus, so you can choose what to eat. I choose not to eat anything that contains Partially Hydrogenated Oils and/or High Fructose Corn Syrup but when I go out to eat that information is unavailable.

Did you know that two years ago Denmark banned trans fat? No one even misses it now.

One problem with todays society is that there is no personal accountability. Everything is someone elses fault. Look at the lawsuits for smoking, guns, etc. I’ve even seen cases where a jetski maker was sued because someone was killed while riding one. The person was underage and an attorney claimed that if there had been a large warning that anyone under the age of 14 should not operate the machine, then the kid would not have died.
