Is obesity hurting our economy? Is it just as bad as being on public assistance?

Which one is hurting America’s economy more? With all of the health problems that occur with obesity is it fair to say that it is hurting us more, less, or just the same? Should medical and health insurances concentrate more on weight management?

What do you think of Obesity in America?

Posted by beeman | Uncategorized | Sunday 30 August 2009 6:20 pm

Do you think Obesity is measured correctly in America? I personally disagree with the BMI calculation and think it warps what defines obesity. If for example, you’re a 230 Ib. 6′1 male who can hardly pinch fat because of muscle, you’re still defines according to BMI as overweight! Who thought up this crap? And as I asked before, what do you think about the subject in general?

Do you think it’s the governments responsibility to make changes to help fight obesity in America?

I’m not sure how I feel about the issue and although obesity is a major problem, I don’t understand why resturants should be forced to change their menus and ways of cooking because of it. People have a choice to eat what they want..If they choose to eat unhealthy than they pay the consequences for it.

Is Santa/coke responsible for obesity in America?

Posted by beeman | Uncategorized | Thursday 27 August 2009 9:42 am

Is there a correlation between coke changing santa into an obese red faced knome in 1931, and the obesity epidemic in America?
ie: they seem to associate being fat with being jolly/happy.
